Wausau Woodchucks
WAUSAU, WI (WSAU) – The bats were on fire Wednesday night at Athletic Park for the Woodchucks, as they were able to cruise to an 11-5 win over Lakeshore.
After two innings, it looked like we could be in for a pitcher’s duel, as the game was notched up at one a piece. Wausau (2-1) then turned on the burners, scoring seven runs in the third and going up 8-1.
Up four runs in the sixth, Wausau needed to answer the three runs put up by Lakeshore. Drew Berkland (Minnesota) would get his first Northwoods League hit, driving in two with a single and giving Wausau it’s first two of three runs scored in the inning.
A quality start by Karl Ralamb (Coastal Carolina) was an uplift to the Woodchucks, as the right-hander went four full with three strikeouts and only one allowed earned run.
A chance at a three-game win streak as Wausau plays host to Lakeshore once again. The first pitch will be at 6:35 p.m. on Thursday, June 1.
