WAUSAU, WI (WSAU) — The Wausau Economic Development Committee has approved to auction off pieces of Bull Falls Brewing as part of the company’s planned sale.
According to Tuesday’s agenda, the auction needed city approval because of the terms of a previous development agreement. Bull Falls had previously taken out $400,000 in loans to acquire property and build a manufacturing facility while also improving their taproom and removing blight from their neighborhood.
Proceeds from the auction will go into a trust account. After expenses related to the auction are paid, the money will be used to pay off liens against the facility.
The Committee made the decision in open session on Tuesday. The full City Council will take up the recommendation on Tuesday, June 13th.
Owners of Bull Falls announced plans to sell the popular Wausau brewery earlier this spring. The equipment and location remain listed as “for sale” through New Mill Capital with an auction scheduled to begin Wednesday, July 19th. All bids are due seven days later on the 26th by Noon CT.
