MADISON, WI (MetroSource-WSAU) — Football season in Madison will look a lot different this year. The University of Wisconsin yesterday announced that fans will not be allowed at Camp Randall Stadium this year.
Athletic Director Barry Alvarez said it would be ‘inappropriate’ for thousands of fans to huddle together on game days. Just what this means for the school isn’t clear, but it’s likely not good.
Alvarez yesterday asked fans to consider their season ticket purchases as a ‘donation,’ rather than asking for a refund.
The Big Ten released a revised football schedule earlier this week. Wisconsin will add a 10th conference game at Northwestern. All Big Ten teams have canceled their non-conference football games, including the Badgers match-up against Notre Dame which was scheduled for October 3rd at Lambeau Field.
