MIAMI, FL (WSAU) – Former President Trump has urged his supporters to keep the peace if they intend to demonstrate against his arrest as he prepares to appear in court on Tuesday following his criminal indictment in Miami.
Between 5,000 and 50,000 people, including supporters, protestors, and Antifa revelers, are anticipated according to Miami officials.
Members of the renowned far-left group Antifa have announced their intention to hold a “celebration dance party” outside the courthouse where Trump will be tried, and they have urged participants to don masks to hide their identity. Their post also calls for the presidency to be “abolished.”
Former President Trump sat down for an interview with supporter Roger Stone on Monday saying, “Look, our country has to protest. We have plenty to protest, we’ve lost everything. We’ve lost our borders, we’ve lost our election integrity, we’ve lost respect all over the world,”
Trump continued by urging supporters to behave peacefully, as they did earlier this year when they demonstrated against his indictment in New York City outside a Manhattan courthouse.
The former President has insisted on his innocence in speeches and on social media, and he is anticipated to enter a not-guilty plea during a quick hearing at 3 p.m. at the federal courthouse in Miami.
According to the most recent Morning Consult poll, former President Trump currently has a 40-point edge over Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis and a 50-point lead over other contenders, while the most recent Ipsos/ABC poll shows the former President has a national favorable rating of only 31%.
