NEW YORK, NY (WSAU) — No, JJ Watt is not becoming a pharmacist.
The former Wisconsin Badger standout has announced that he will be joining CBS’ NFL Today pregame show as an analyst for select weeks during the 2023-’24 regular season. Watt made the announcement on Twitter in his second take after botching the first one.
“I just got a job at CVS,” said Watt.
He quickly corrected himself, saying “Little pro tip, when you start a new job, don’t screw up the announcement. It’s not a good way to start your first day on the job.”
Sorry, sorry…

“I am extremely excited to be joining [The NFL Today] to be talking a little football, talking a little life, and to have a global platform to make fun of my little brothers on,” said Watt.
The former Pewaukee High School standout will join studio host James Brown and analysts Boomer Esiason, Bill Cowher, Phil Simms, and Nate Burleson. Watt didn’t specify how many weeks he will be on the set.
He adds that the job will be a great opportunity for him as he begins life after football. Watt retired from the NFL at the end of the last season after spending 12 years in the league, 10 with the Houston Texans and two with the Arizona Cardinals.
Watt is the second former player that CBS has hired as an analyst this offseason. The other is QB Matt Ryan, who will serve as a game analyst for the Tiffany Network.
CBS will broadcast Super Bowl LVIII from Las Vegas on February 11th, 2024.
