WAUSAU, WI (WSAU) — Wausau’s incumbent Mayor will begin her re-election bid with a fundraising event featuring Governor Tony Evers on Saturday.
The event will be held at Whitewater Music Hall beginning at noon and will feature Evers and other speakers including Marathon County Supervisor Yee Leng Xiong and State Rep. Francesca Hong.
Tickets for the event start at $20 per person and must be reserved online.
Rosenberg has also launched a campaign website touting affordable housing, funding for additional firefighter/paramedic positions, and addressing water quality concerns as accomplishments from her first term.
The former Marathon County Supervisor won her first term as Mayor in the spring of 2020, defeating incumbent Robert Mielke with 52% of the vote.
Rosenberg confirmed last spring that she will run for re-election, though said she would not be actively campaigning until the second half of the year. The Mayor’s office is up for election along with all 11 City Council seats during the 2024 Spring Election and Presidential Primary, which is scheduled for April 2nd.
Candidates may begin circulating their nominating petitions for those seats in early December. All documents must be submitted back to the City Clerk’s Office by early January.
