Thursday could bring the first significant movement in the case against the teen accused of killing Lily Peters in Chippewa Falls- as a hearing is scheduled in Chippewa County court for 1:30 PM
Peters was killed while riding her bike home from her aunt’s house in April 2022. It’s believed that her cousin, who was accompanying her on the trip, told investigators that he had persuaded Peters to “go exploring” near a stream.
He’s facing three felony counts for homicide and sexual assault of a child. It’s currently unclear if the case will stay in the adult court system or will move to the juvenile system. Because of that uncertainty, his name has been redacted from all court documents and thus far he has only been identified by his initials.
A series of hearings from August 7th-14th is also on the schedule.
