WAUSAU, WI (WSAU) – The Wisconsin Valley Fair has announced that classic rock legend Rick Springfield will be performing tonight.
Rick Springfield last performed at the Wisconsin Valley Fair back in 2000 and will be making this stop 23 years later on his “I Want My 80’s Tour.”
Springfield first rose to prominence in 1981, when his hit “Jessie’s Girl” spent two weeks at number one on Billboard’s top charts. The song also won him a Grammy Award for Best Male Rock Vocal Performance.
He would go on to write a number of other hits, such as “I’ve Done Everything For You” and “Don’t Talk To Strangers,” which flew up the charts back in 1982, and would have a total of 16 Top 40 hits from 1981–88.
Gates will open at 4 p.m., and Springfield will take the stage at 7:30 p.m.
