MOSINEE, WI (WSAU) – The Cobblestone Hotel hosted a ribbon-cutting and open house on Thursday afternoon to give people the opportunity to get a look at Mosinee’s newest downtown addition.
Cobblestone was founded in 2008 with the opening of its first location in Clintonville, Wisconsin. The chain has since become one of the fastest-growing hotel chains in the U.S., with over 165 locations open or under construction, 50 more in development, and spread across 27 states.
President of Development Jeremy Griesbach spoke about what it means for Cobblestone’s new location to become a part of Mosinee’s growing downtown, saying, “There are a lot of great things going on. I know when I visited downtown two and a half years ago for the first time in decades, I was surprised to see what had gone on down here and the transformation that had begun. Things like restaurants, breweries, entertainment facilities, and lots of great things, so we’re excited to be a piece of that.”
Griesbach further noted that Cobblestone Hotels is very interested in central Wisconsin due to the economic growth the region has seen over the past few years. He offered praise to Mosinee Mayor Brent Jacobson and the city’s officials saying that their ability to remain realistic and be willing to help when obstacles came up lead to the project being completed as efficiently as it was.
