MILWAUKEE, WI (WSAU) – According to Keith Smith of Spotrac, the Milwaukee Bucks have signed former Gonzaga star Drew Timme and Giannis Antetokounmpo’s brother Alex to contracts ahead of the preseason.
The deals are “designed to have them play for the Wisconsin Herd of the G League after the preseason,” Smith continued.
Alex Antetokounmpo is the Bucks’ third Antetokounmpo brother joining Giannis and Thanasis who has been with them since the 2019-20 season.
Alex has played in the G League since he went undrafted in 2021. He played for the Raptors 905 in 2021-22 and the Herd in 2022-23, when he averaged 5.8 points and 3.1 rebounds in 32 games.
Before going undrafted in 2023, Timme played four seasons as a star for the Bulldogs at Gonzaga. In 37 games last season, he averaged 21.2 points, 7.5 rebounds, and 3.2 assists while shooting 61.6 percent from the field.
On Oct. 8, the Bucks will play their first preseason game against the Chicago Bulls.
