WAUSAU, WI (WSAU) — Wausau Police were called to the M & R Station on 3rd Avenue early Wednesday for a report of a fight that ended with a single gunshot.
The incident began at 1:40 AM when officers arrived to break up a fight in the parking lot of the tavern. Officers found one of the individuals was armed with a handgun and instructed him to drop it.
The man then fled the scene on foot. After he ran, a single gunshot was heard in the area.
Officers were unable to locate the suspect but did recover a gun from the scene.
