GREEN BAY, WI (WSAU) – The Green Bay Packers are hoping to get one of their star players back this week as they prepare for their home opener on Sunday.
Green Bay Packers receiver Christian Watson was back on the practice field on Wednesday, according to Packers insider Zach Krause, raising the chance of his returning from a hamstring injury and playing on Sunday against the New Orleans Saints.

Watson injured his hamstring during practice on Aug. 31, so the team estimates he’s about three weeks removed from the initial injury.
Even though Watson is back and is likely to be reported as limited throughout the week, the team also anticipates offensive linemen David Bakhtiari and Elgton Jenkins, as well as running back Aaron Jones (hamstring), to be listed as “did not participate.” Jones didn’t show up for practice after stretching with the team, while Bakhtiari and Jenkins weren’t available, according to Mike Spoffrd.
Before the final injury report and playing status designations arrive on Friday, the Packers will offer an injury report update on Thursday.
