WAUSAU, WI (WSAU-WAOW)- Agrotourism is the practice of connecting people and farms with enjoyable activities, and it significantly impacts many people in the Midwest.
This is the busiest time of year for agricultural sales and attractions. Multicolored pumpkins and cool temperatures make for wonderful fall memories.
Wisconsin residents witness and feel the effects of agrotourism firsthand, “Fall is their largest season. It definitely brings people to the farm for those fall activities from corn mazes to pumpkin patches, so we love to see it,” Melissa Sabel Director of Marketing for the Stevens Point Area Convention & Visitors Bureau told WAOW. “I don’t have any hard numbers for you, unfortunately, but we are so lucky to have so many great opportunities for Agrotourism touchpoints in Central Wisconsin.”
This time of year is special and timely given the wide range of available family-friendly activities.
“A different type of activity it’s not like going to the movies or going to the amusement park or something like that and people just like getting out into the country,” said Doug Wilke Owner of Wilke’s Dairy Farm.
Agrotourism is in full swing in Central Wisconsin, so make plans to visit any of the dozens of farms in the area that provide these fantastic experiences to anybody and everyone.
