MADISON, WI (WSAU) – Wisconsin improved to 4-1 and 2-0 in the Big Ten with yesterday’s 24-13 victory over Rutgers.
Wisconsin is the only unbeaten team in the West as of Week 6. It now holds the division’s top spot with a two-game advantage over other Big Ten schools.
ESPN SP+ further stated that Wisconsin moved up two spots in their rankings to No. 23, with a No. 38 offense and No. 13 defense in the rankings. The next-highest-ranked Big Ten West team is Iowa, ranked No. 41.
Despite the Badgers passing game looking rather slow, Tanner Mordecai impressed after completing 17 of his 31 passes for 145 yards (4.7 YPA) and a score. He added 11 rushing attempts for 50 yards, which contributed significantly to the offense’s balance.
Running back Bralon Allen had a big day on Saturday as well, rushing 21 times for 101 yards and a touchdown.
Wisconsin will look to win one of their toughest matchups of the season as Iowa visits Camp Randell on Saturday at 3 p.m. on FOX.
