WAUSAU, WI (WSAU) — A Wausau man accused of firing shots at a home on 3rd Avenue and then running from police for weeks will have a trial.
Nicholas Multani was in court on Wednesday where a judge found enough evidence in the case against him to move forward. The 18-year-old did not enter a plea during the hearing.
Multani is accused of firing a handgun outside the home during an argument in late July. When officers arrived on the scene they found evidence of a shooting and were able to confirm that no one was hurt.
Multani was immediately named as a person of interest in the case but eluded officers for two months. He was finally captured in Racine County when responded to a well-being check on a vehicle that had two people passed out inside of it. One of those men was identified as Multani, who was arrested on local charges along with an outstanding warrant from Marathon County.
