PHOENIX. AZ (WSAU) — The Texas Rangers are one win away from claiming their first World Series title in franchise history.
Texas held off the Arizona Diamondbacks for an 11-7 victory in Game Four of the World Series at Chase Field.
Corey Seager hit a two-run shot to highlight a five-run second inning by Texas, while a three-run blast from Marcus Semien an inning later put the Rangers ahead 10-0. Texas starter Andrew Heaney earned the win after striking out three and allowing one run through five frames.
Arizona starter Joe Mantiply was charged with the loss after letting up a run in just one-and-a-third innings of work. Lourdes Gurriel Jr. hit a three-run homer in the eighth inning and finished with four RBI.
The teams will meet for Game Five tonight in Phoenix.
