WASHINGTON DC (WSAU) – The U.S. House of Representatives censured “Squad Member” Rep. Rashida Tlaib (D-MI) on Tuesday for her endorsement of genocide against the state of Israel.
According to the Daily Wire, 22 Democrats and 212 Republicans voted in favor of the censure, with four Republicans voting against it, in a tally of 234–188. Six members abstained from voting, while four members cast present votes.
Tlaib was criticized in the motion to censure her for “calling for the destruction of the state of Israel and promoting false narratives regarding the October 7, 2023, Hamas attack on Israel.”
In addition, the resolution stated that Tlaib “knowingly spread the false narrative that Israel intentionally bombed the Al-Ahli Arab Hospital on October 17 after United States intelligence, Israeli intelligence, and President Biden assessed with high confidence that Israel did not cause the explosion.” Tlaib “defended the brutal rapes, murders, be-headings, and kidnapping—including of Americans—by Hamas as justified resistance to the ‘apartheid state ”
After uploading a video on X this week criticizing President Joe Biden for his support of the Jewish state and including the slogan “From the river to the sea,” which calls for the ethnic genocide of Jews from Israel, Tlaib drew fire from both political parties.
In reaction to Tlaib’s statement that the term refers to “…the full erasure of the Jewish state, from Jordan River to the Mediterranean Sea,” StopAntisemitism wrote on X, stating that the chant is Hamas’ rallying cry and pointing out that “You echo terrorists.”
