Lydia Rachu
WAUSAU, WI (WSAU-WAOW) – Lydia Rachu was born during World War I.
Rachu, her family, and friends have been celebrating her 107th birthday all weekend at Mountain Terrace Senior Living.
Rachu was born on November 20, 1916, but she is still witty and sharp as a tack. She had a number of things to say while celebrating Monday.
“I’m not one hundred and seven,” she explained with a twinkle in her eye. “I’m twenty-six!”
Rachu also gave family and friends some advice for those around her. “Just be yourself and live,” she said. Simple but truthful.
Her family members tell WAOW-TV that it is a blessing to have Rachu still with them.
