WAUSAU, WI (WSAU) – A new poll from Bloomberg and the Morning Consult has found that former President Trump has extended his lead in Wisconsin and several other swing states.
With only months until election day, Bloomberg reports that in a head-to-head showdown spanning seven swing states, Trump leads Biden by five percentage points among registered voters. In Wisconsin, Arizona, and Michigan, the poll found that Trump leads President Biden by 4 points. Meanwhile, in Georgia, Trump leads Biden by 6 points and in North Carolina by 9 points.
The poll asked respondents about the economy and under which president it was better, with 51% saying it was better under Trump and 34% saying it’s better under Biden. A similar response was given when asked about their personal financial situation: 50% said they were better off under Trump compared to 31% who said they were better off under Biden. Trump also saw large leads on other economic issues, such as a 15-point lead on interest rates and a 7-point lead on housing costs.
However, Biden leads on issues such as climate change by 12 points, abortion by only a surprising 3 points, healthcare by 2 points, and Medicare by 2 points. On issues such as labor and unions, Trump currently leads by 3 points and is tied at 40% with Biden on education and schools.
When it comes to handling the Russia/Ukraine war and the Israel/Hamas war, Trump leads in both categories by 11 points.
