GREEN BAY, WI (WSAU) – The Packers will be getting two of their star players back before their must-win game against the Chicago Bears on Sunday afternoon.
According to the Athletics’ Matt Schneidman, both star cornerback Jaire Alexander and wide receiver Christian Watson practiced on Wednesday without any notable setbacks. Watson was, however, limited and mainly participated during walk-throughs.
“Even if it’s on a limited basis, we’ll all see his (Watson) playmaking ability and intelligence out of the field and move him around him wherever we may need him,” Matt LaFleur said after practice.
Watson has missed the team’s last four games due to a hamstring injury sustained during the Packers victory over the Kansas City Chiefs.
Meanwhile, Alexander was re-instated to the roster on Monday and practiced on Wednesday after serving a one-game suspension due to actions the team considered to be detrimental.
When asked about Alexander’s status and if he’ll be the team’s top corner on Sunday, Matt LaFleur said, “I’m not going to get into too many of the specifics; you guys will find out later in the week, but I will say, it was great to have him back. We had a great conversation on Monday. He’s ready to go.”
In Week 1 against Chicago, Alexander limited D.J. Moore to only two catches for 25 yards.
