CAMP DOUGLAS, WI (WSAU-WAOW) – The Juneau County Sheriff’s Office has launched an investigation after a body was discovered north of Camp Douglas on Thursday morning.
The sheriff’s office was notified, according to Sheriff Andrew Zobal, at approximately 8:40 a.m. that a deceased person had been discovered on County Highway M at the Oakridge Trail parking lot.
Sheriff Zobal stated that the death is being investigated as suspicious but did not provide further details. County Highway M will remain closed for one mile south of State Highway 21 to Cranberry Creek Road/25th Street until the investigation can be completed.
The Sheriff’s office believes that the death looked to be an isolated event and poses no threat to the surrounding area at this time.
