MERRILL, WI (WSAU) — A Tomahawk woman already facing charges for misdemeanor disorderly conduct multiplied her problems during a recent court appearance and now faces felony drug charges.
According to the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office 25-year-old Breanna Hoople was in court on Wednesday, January 10th for a return on a warrant after missing an earlier court date. During the hearing a judge noted that she has a history of either missing dates or showing up late, leading the judge to request her to either report to jail ahead of her hearings or post a cash bond.
During the hearing, Hoople became confrontational and was eventually taken back to jail for disorderly conduct. A search of her person then turned up a small package of meth.
She was kept in jail overnight and appeared the next day for one felony count of possession of methamphetamine and another misdemeanor charge of disorderly conduct. A judge then set a $1,500 signature bond.
Hoople will return for an adjourned initial appearance on March 5th for the drug charges. No further court action has been scheduled for the earlier charge of disorderly conduct, which carries a domestic abuse modifier. It’s unclear if the court will move the cases forward simultaneously.
