ANN ARBOR, MI and DULUTH, MN (WSAU) — The Badger hockey teams went 1-1 in Friday action.
The women traveled to Duluth and scored a 2-1 victory over the Bulldogs in WCHA play. Casey O’Brien scored a goal and an assist in the win, Lacey Eden netted the game-winner early in the third period.
Jane Gervais made 20 saves to get the win in net, including nine in the second period.
Wisconsin is now 21-4 on the season and 15-4 in conference play. They now lead the season series over the Bulldogs 2-1 and will go for the series win later this afternoon.
Meanwhile, the Men fell in Big Ten play against Michigan 5-1. Jack Horbach scored the lone goal of the game for Wisconsin early in the 3rd, cutting the Michigan lead to 3-1 at that time.
The Wolverines added two more including an empty netter late in the period.
Frank Nazar III scored two goals and an assist for Michigan.
Kyle McClellan made 26 saves in the loss.
The same two teams will wrap up their weekend series later today. Pregame coverage on WSAU will begin at 5:30, with face-off from Ann Arbor at 6:00 PM.
