EAGLE RIVER, WI (WSAU) — A Northwoods man accused of abusing women has entered a guilty plea to charges in Vilas County.
Frank Schuman entered the plea on Tuesday for one count of substantial battery. The charges carry a maximum penalty of 3.5 years in prison, though he could face more time because of a domestic abuse modifier.
Officers suspect that he’s committed numerous offenses against women including substantial battery, false imprisonment, recklessly endangering safety, and strangulation. He faces additional court proceedings in Oneida and Outagamie Counties as well.
The 30-year-old was the subject of a six-month manhunt that ended in early 2023. At that time he was out on bond for “numerous offenses against women including substantial battery, false imprisonment, reckless endangering safety, and strangulation.”
Following his arrest at least one other victim came forward.
