MILWAUKEE, WI (WSAU) – The Milwaukee Bucks could be without their starting point guard Damian Lillard against the Charlotte Hornets on Friday night.
According to the Athletics’ Eric Nehm, Lillard is continuing to deal with a left ankle sprain that kept him out of last night’s 129-105 loss to the Minnesota Timberwolves.
However, help may be on the way as newly acquired point guard Patrick Beverley is reportedly with the team and has been cleared to play tonight. Beverley is familiar with head coach Doc Rivers’s system due to their time together with the Los Angeles Clippers.
The three-time All-Defensive team guard was acquired from the Philadelphia 76ers in a deal yesterday afternoon for point guard Cam Payne and a 2027 second-round pick. When Beverley starts this season, he averages 14.6 points per game along with 6 assists, and is coming off a 13-point performance on Wednesday night against the Golden State Warriors.
