WAUSAU, WI (WSAU) – Wisconsin 7th Congressional District Republican Tom Tiffany has endorsed former President Donald Trump for president following the unanimous SCOTUS ruling that no state can legally remove a presidential candidate from the ballot.
According to a post on X, Tiffany endorsed Trump on Monday, saying, “He (Trump) is the only candidate that will keep our borders secure and our country safe. I am officially endorsing Donald Trump for President of the United States.”
Tiffany has been a long-time supporter of the former president, who won all but one state primary from former UN ambassador Nikki Haley during Super Tuesday’s primaries. Trump finished the night winning all but 92 delegates up for grabs, which totaled out to be a 965-point victory overall.
During a recent interview, Tiffany stated that he believes Wisconsin would be the key to a Trump victory come November, saying, “If Donald Trump wins Wisconsin in 2024, he will win the presidency. If he doesn’t win Wisconsin, it’ll be much more difficult to be able to do it. We are the battleground state. And I can’t wait for the competition here in 2024 to try to bring Wisconsin home for the Republicans and for Donald Trump.”
The former President has secured some strong recent poll numbers against President Biden in recent days, which included a four-point victory over Biden in the latest New York Times/Siena poll, a four-point victory over Biden in the latest CBS News poll, a two-point victory over Biden in the latest Fox News poll, and a two-point victory over Biden in the latest Wall Street Journal poll.
