MARSHFIELD, WI (WSAU) — A particle board press machine caught fire at Masonite Architectural in Marshfield on Wednesday.
Crews were called to the scene at about 10:00 AM and responded with interior attack teams and a ladder truck, allowing them to access the fire through the roof.
Crews were able to contain the fire to the machine with help from the building’s sprinkler system, which kept the flames from spreading.
The building’s sprinkler system was able to contain the fire to the area of origin. However, crews did find some additional flames in the ductwork above the machine. Minor damage was also found on nearby machines.
One employee was treated for smoke inhalation at the scene. No first responders were injured in the incident.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
