MADISON, WI (WSAU) – The Wisconsin Badgers men’s basketball defeated the Northwestern Wildcats on Friday afternoon, 70-61, to advance to the Big Ten tournament.
The Badgers were led by A.J. Storr, who scored a career-high 30 points, and Wisconsin’s offense stayed hot, shooting 46.2 percent from the field and an impressive 45.5 percent from three.
Big man Steven Crowl chipped in as well, scoring 19 points while connecting on three out of his five attempts from deep. Crowl has now scored 15+ points in back-to-back games after scoring 17 points against Maryland on Thursday.
Wisconsin also looked great defensively on Friday, holding Northwestern to 37.7 percent from the field and only 34.8 percent from three.
With the victory, the Badgers move on to the tournament’s semifinals, where they will play the Purdue Boilermakers on Saturday at noon.
