NEW YORK, NY (WSAU) — The New York Mets and Milwaukee Brewers will not open Major League Baseball’s regular season as planned.
Thursday’s game has been postponed due to anticipated rain. The NYC area is expected to receive significant rainfall tonight and throughout the day Thursday.
Some areas of the city could get more than an inch of rain on Thursday, according to local media reports.
Friday’s game is scheduled for a 12:40 first pitch. Pregame coverage on WSAU will begin at 12:05 PM.
The Brewers and Mets aren’t the only teams impacted by less-than-ideal conditions in the northeast this week. The Philadelphia Phillies and Atlanta Braves have also postponed their season opener to Friday.
The New York Yankees are on the road to start the season in Houston. The Boston Red Sox are playing their first series in Seattle, which has a retractable roof. Baltimore and the LA Angels are scheduled to play at Camden Yards on Thursday.
