MADISON, WI (WSAU) – The Wisconsin Badgers will be without their top scorer next season after guard A.J. Storr confirmed that he will enter the transfer portal if he is not taken in this year’s NBA draft.
According to 247 Sports’ Travis Branham, a source close to the matter confirmed that Storr will indeed be moving on from Wisconsin after just one season with the program.
Storr led the Badgers in both points per game (16.8) and field goal percentage (43.4%) in 2023 after transferring to Wisconsin from St. Johns last summer.
The former Badger will be eligible to play next season despite declaring for the NBA draft, saying in a post on X, “Joining this program under coach Gard has been a dream come true. It’s been my lifelong ambition to play basketball at the highest level. I find myself at a pivotal moment. I have decided to engage in and experience the NBA Draft process, all while maintaining my college eligibility.”
Storr joins sophomore guard Connor Essegian and freshman forward Gus Yalden as the third scholarship departure and the Badgers’ fifth player overall to leave the program.
