WAUSAU, WI (WSAU) – The NFL announced on Tuesday that the Green Bay Packers and Philadelphia Eagles will square off in Corinthians Arena in São Paulo, Brazil, on September 6th to start the 2024 season.
Packers CEO Mark Murphy spoke about the announcement shortly after it was made saying, “We’re looking forward to being a part of this historic matchup against the Eagles in São Paulo. We’re excited to play in front of our devoted fans in Brazil and help build upon the international popularity of the NFL and the Packers. We had a great experience playing internationally for the first time a couple of years ago and we’re proud to be part of the league’s continued global growth.”
It will be the first-ever NFL regular season game played in South America, and the Packers are among the most well-liked teams in the league in Brazil. The Packers’ most recent international game was a 2022 loss in London against the New York Giants.
The game will be viewable on broadcast TV in local markets and streamed exclusively on Peacock.
