GREEN BAY, WI (WSAU) – The 2024 NFL draft is only 10 days away, and the Green Bay Packers have ramped up their official and pro-day visits for players they’re eyeing to select. Here is WSAU’s second mock draft of the season.
Round 1 pick 25: Alabama cornerback Kool-Aid McKinstry. With fan favorite and best player for the Packers in Iowa’s Cooper DeJean likely being off the board by pick 25, the Packers select McKinstry here as the team has spent a lot of time with the Crimson Tide star over the last month, with Green Bay meeting with him at Alabama’s pro day and inviting him to Lambeau Field for a top 30 official visit.

PLUSES
— McKinstry is about as concept-transcendent as any cornerback in this class; equally adept at press and off coverage at a time when a lot of college cornerbacks are short on press reps.

Round 2 pick 41: Arizona offensive tackle Jordan Morgan. The Packers will more than likely be using one of their top 50 picks on an offensive tackle, and Morgan would provide the Packers with a long-term option at tackle, assuming the team’s medical staff clears the former first-team All-PAC-12 selection, as concerns with his ACL have worried some scouts since he tore the ligament back in 2022.

Round 2 pick 58: Alabama wide receiver Jermaine Burton. The Packers have expressed a strong desire to add another deep threat to their wide receiver core in recent weeks and have shown strong interest in Burton, specifically spending time with him during his pro day and even inviting him for an official top 30 visit this past week. Green Bay has a decision to make with Christian Watson next spring, and if the team decides not to exercise his option, Burton could be a long-term WR1 option for Jordan Love for years to come.

Round 3 pick 88: Texas defensive lineman T’Vondre Sweat. Green Bay has some serious decisions to make after this season about what to do with Kenny Clark, and if Devonte Wyatt is truly a piece of new defensive coordinator Jeff Hafley’s 4-3 system and Sweat being available at pick 88, it would be tough for the Packers to pass up after meeting with him during the Senior Bowl earlier this year. Sweat is currently facing off-the-field questions after he was arrested for DWI in Austin, TX, this past weekend, and a franchise with a strong culture like the Packers would be a great fit for the 2023 Outland Trophy winner.

Round 3 pick 91: Boston College offensive guard Christian Mahogany. The Packers need more offensive line depth, and Mahogany comes with a strong upside after giving up just 7 QB hurries, no QB hits, and no sacks on his way to receiving first-team All-ACC honors in 2023.
