WISCONSIN RAPIDS, WI (WSAU) — A Vesper man who was out on bond for multiple felony counts is back in jail after a shooting incident was reported in a Wisconsin Rapids home.
Austin Knuesel is accused of holding two people at gunpoint in a home on April 8th while he demanded some property. During that incident, he fired a shot into the ceiling.
The incident went on for several hours. When Knuesel left, he allegedly told the people he would come back and kill them if he didn’t get the property he was demanding.
It’s unclear what item or items Knuesel was demanding.
Officers arrested Knuesel at his home on April 13th and found a sawed-off shotgun and a large quantity of marijuana.
Court records show Knuesel is not yet facing charges related to the April 8th incident. Open cases against him include an OWI, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, and repeated sexual assault of the same child. He is held in the Wood County jail on a $100,000 cash bond.
On Monday officers executed a search warrant at the home where the shooting took place. Evidence of the shooting was recovered and four people were arrested following a short standoff.
Officers did not release their names or what charges they may face. The incident remains under investigation, and no further information will be released.
