MILWAUKEE, WI (WSAU) — After winning on Thursday and Friday the Milwaukee Brewers split games over the weekend to take the series from the St. Louis Cardinals at American Family Field.
Milwaukee won 5-3 on Saturday and lost Sunday 4-3.
On Saturday a three-run homer from Rhys Hoskins in the seventh inning gave Milwaukee the lead. Jake Bauers hit a solo shot and Gary Sanchez had the other RBI.
Freddy Peralta pitched six innings, giving up three runs on three hits with 8 Ks and one walk. Hoby Milner picked up the win in relief. Milner, Bryse Hudson and Trevfor Megill combined for three scoreless innings.
On Sunday the Brewers took a 3-0 lead in the first inning but that was qall they could manage. The Cardinals scored single runs in the 2nd,5th, 6th, & 7th innings.
Joey Ortiz, Sanchez and Hoskins had the RBIs.
The Brewers, now 24-16, start a series with the Pittsburgh Pirates tonight…pre-game show at 6:05 on WSAU.
