MARSHFIELD, WI (WSAU) — Deputies in Wood County arrested an unidentified juvenile after a high-speed chase from Wood County into Clark County early Wednesday morning.
It started near Highway 10 and State Highway 186 at about 4:30 AM when the vehicle failed to stop at a stop sign. Officers tried to pull the vehicle over, but the driver refused and continued westbound into Marshfield.
The chase went through the city from South Central Avenue to County H, then into Clark County where officers utilized a pursuit intervention technique to stop the vehicle, which had been reported as stolen from the Village of Spencer.
No officers were injured in the case but one Marshfield business did sustain some damage. Two squad cars were also damaged in the chase.
The driver was taken to the Marathon County Juvenile Detention Center without further incident. They’ll likely face charges for a first offense OWI, taking a vehicle without the owner’s consent, and hit-and-run causing damage.
