WISCONSIN RAPIDS, WI (WSAU) — A former Wisconsin Rapids Public School counselor accused of inappropriate sexual contact with a teenager has pled no contest to child enticement and sexual assault of a student by school staff.
Christopher Bondioli entered the plea on Tuesday on what was originally scheduled as a final pre-trial hearing before a three-day trial in July. That was changed at the last minute to a plea hearing.
A judge then dismissed three counts including additional charges for child enticement and sexual assault of a student by school staff. A count of conspiracy to obstruct an officer’s investigation was also dismissed.
School officials were alerted to the potentially inappropriate relationship in late 2021. Officers then received text messages and other data from the victim, which led them to arrest the 53-year-old.

Bondioli resigned in early 2022 when the allegations came to light. He was charged later that year and originally pled not guilty in November of 2022.
He now faces up to 31 years in prison at sentencing, which is scheduled for August 20th.
