MILWAUKEE, WI (WSAU) – With the 2024 NBA draft less than a week away, the Milwaukee Bucks could look to make more than one deal to change up their roster this offseason.
According to ESPN’s Brian Windhorst during an interview on First Take, Bucks head coach Doc Rivers is looking to make changes to the “core pieces” of the roster, saying, “There’s starting to be rumblings that Doc Rivers is looking for a change or two to some of their core pieces. Not Dame or Giannis, but potentially looking at another maneuver they could make to alter their team. I think they could be active in the trade market coming up. I think it’s less likely than in Philadelphia or New York that they could make this big move, but don’t forget about Milwaukee.”
Earlier this week, The Ringer reported that center Brook Lopez’s future in Milwaukee remains “up in the air” as Rivers would like to change the Bucks defensive scheme to a more athletic style and would clear $23 million from Milwaukee’s salary cap. The Bucks could also be looking to deal forward Bobby Portis Jr. to revamp their bench and provide $12.5 million in cap relief, or Milwaukee could make a blockbuster deal by moving Khris Middleton to a team like Atlanta or New Orleans for higher draft picks or a star player like Dejounte Murray or Brandon Ingram.
