MILWAUKEE, WI (WSAU) – The Milwaukee Bucks have made their first move of the 2024 off-season, agreeing to a one-year deal with free agent point guard Delon Wright.
According to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, former Miami Heat guard Delon Wright’s one-year deal with the Bucks will be worth $3.3 million and will provide Milwaukee with a “well-traveled and dependable guard.”
Wright, who was a first-round pick in the 2015 NBA draft, averaged 4.5 points and 2.5 assists for the Heat while averaging 15 minutes played per game for the Heat in 2023.
Meanwhile, the Bucks are also bringing former Detroit Pistons forward Stanley Umude on a two-way deal, according to The Athletics’ Eric Nehm. Umude, who went undrafted out of Arkansas during the 2022 NBA Draft and played in 24 games for the Pistons last season, scoring 5.3 points in 12.8 minutes played per game in 2023, will give the Bucks another young athletic forward to use as the team continues to retool their roster.
This move will likely be the first of many for the Bucks as they look to replace Jae Crower and Malik Beasley, who are likely to sign elsewhere in the coming days, and possible trades, including rumors that the Bucks and Lakers have discussed a deal involving Brook Lopez.
