GREEN BAY, WI (WSAU) – One of the best Packers wide receivers of the last decade may be hanging up his cleats after 13 seasons in the league.
According to a post on X from ESPN, Randall Cobb, who is a former star receiver at the University of Kentucky and played for Green Bay for eight seasons as well as the Dallas Cowboys, Houston Texans, and New York Jets for one season each is considering retiring from the NFL to join the SEC Network as a studio analyst for the 2024 season.
Cobb responded to ESPN’s announcement, saying he isn’t “officially retired, but I’m excited for this new opportunity!” and is reportedly open to playing in the NFL in 2024 if the “right opportunity arises.”
A second-round pick of the Packers in 2011, Cobb would finish his career with 630 receptions for 7,624 yards and 54 touchdowns across 166 games. His greatest year was 2014 when he set career highs with 91 receptions, 1,287 yards, and 12 touchdowns to earn his only selection to the Pro Bowl.
