GREEN BAY, WI (WSAU) – Green Bay Packers fans may still get their first look at veteran running back Josh Jacobs on Saturday during Family Night after an injury during practice on Thursday gave fans a scare.
Following practice on Thursday, Jacobs went to the media and fell short of calling the issue an injury, saying, “I wouldn’t call it an injury. It’s not really an injury; it’s more, so I just tweaked it a little bit. If we were to have a game today, I’d definitely be playing. Could have practiced today even.”
Jacobs continued by saying that the Packers held him out of practice out of extra caution to make sure a “tweak” didn’t turn into anything more serious, as several other veterans, including Rashan Gary, Preston Smith, Elgton Jenkins, and Kenny Clark, also rested on Thursday.
“I don’t know exactly what the plans are,” Jacobs said when talking about what to expect during Family Night. “I don’t know. I feel like I’m going to feel the atmosphere and all that, and I’m going to want to do everything. It’s only August 1st, so we’ll see how it goes.”
Other notable players who may be inactive for Saturday night’s practice include rookie linebacker Edgerrin Cooper (toe), cornerback Carrington Valentine (hamstring), and tight end Tucker Kraft (pec).
