QUITO (Reuters) – Ecuador’s foreign ministry on Tuesday reaffirmed its stance to not grant safe passage for former Vice President Jorge Glas to leave the country, following a request from Mexico’s government to allow Glas to go to a third country.
Mexico broke relations with Ecuador in April after Ecuadorean authorities forcefully entered Mexico’s embassy to arrest Glas, who had been granted asylum by Mexico.
