ROTHSCHILD, WI (WSAU-WAOW) — Three fires near the Rothschild Pavilion are being investigated as arson.
The first call came at 2:30 AM and involved the Wausau Noon Optimist Elephant Ear stand. WAOW TV reports they were at the Pavilion to provide food for a first responder thank you event.
The second came shortly after crews had cleared from the first call. That fire started in an unoccupied shed near the Pavilion. No injuries have been reported and both incidents remain under investigation. Anyone with information is asked to reach out to law enforcement.
Authorities also announced that an arrest had been made in connection to a fire that was set inside a cardboard box containing spray bottles at Tidal Wave Car Wash, which had only opened two weeks before. It caused damage to the back door and wall of the business but no one was injured during the incident.
