WISCONSIN RAPIDS, WI (WSAU) — A former Wisconsin Rapids High School Counselor accused of inappropriate sexual contact with a teen has been sentenced to prison time.
Christopher Bondioli will spend three years in state prison for counts of child enticement/sexual contact and sexual assault of a student by school staff. His sentence also includes four years of probation and thousands in restitution and fines.
The 54-year-old pled no contest to the counts earlier this year and was found guilty. Three other charges were dismissed but can be considered at today’s sentencing hearing, which begins at 2:00 PM.
Charges stem from a 2022 investigation into a potentially inappropriate relationship between a staffer and a student. School officials were tipped off about the relationship through another employee. Officers then received text messages and other details from the victim, which led them to arrest Bondioli.
He was put on leave in late January 2022 and the school board accepted his resignation one month later.
Court records show one victim gave an impact statement during Tuesday’s hearing. Bondioli had faced a maximum of 30 years in prison on the counts. He was given credit for one day served in jail before he was released on bond.
