The first pieces of the 2025 Wausau property tax bill may begin falling into place on Monday.
The Wausau School Board may take action on the 2024-’25 budget tomorrow, which may mean a $1.42 drop in the mill rate.
According to the master budget presentation on Monday’s agenda, the district proposes a $7.41 mill rate. The drop is credited to an increase in district-wide property value and an increase in equalization aid from the state.
This comes after a city-wide revaluation drove Wausau’s combined property values above the $6 billion mark for the first time in history.
