MOSINEE, WI (WSAU) – Former President Donald Trump hosted thousands of supporters for one of his trademark campaign rallies at Mosinee’s Central Wisconsin Airport on Saturday afternoon as voters prepared to head to the polls in just 59 days.
The rally marked Trump’s first trip to the predominantly rural portion of the Badger State, taking time to discuss issues on many voters’ minds, such as illegal immigration, inflation, the Ukraine/Russia war, transgenderism being taught in schools without parental knowledge, and biological men competing against women in sports, which received loud cheers and applause from the crowd. Trump stated that if elected he’d bring an end to the war in Ukraine and reprioritize investing in American energy instead of turning to countries such as Venezuela for oil and gas products.
The former president did stop the rally briefly when someone in the crowd suffered a medical emergency that required medical attention. Trump thanked the EMS members for their fast response, saying, “We get the greatest service here. It’s amazing the way they are just right on it.”
“And just make some room for them so they can get out and hopefully come back before we’re finished because we can stay here all day as far as I’m concerned,” Trump continued while he waited for the EMS members to assist the rally attendee.
According to pollster Nate Silver, Trump currently holds a 61.5% chance of reclaiming the presidency in November as Wisconsin remains a competitive swing state, with Trump favored in Silver’s model by just four percent over Harris. The most recent YouGov poll for The Times shows Vice President Kamala Harris with a slight three percentage point lead over Trump in Wisconsin, which represents a statistical tie due to the margin of error in the poll being just under three percent.
