WAUPACA COUNTY, Wis. (WAOW-WSAU) — A semi-truck driver died after a medical condition caused his semi to crash in Waupaca County on Monday night.
At 7 p.m. Monday a trooper with the Wisconsin State Patrol notified the Waupaca County Communications Center of a one-vehicle crash involving a semi-truck on US Highway 10 near State Highway 22.
The driver and lone occupant of the semi-truck was unresponsive upon arrival and law enforcement immediately began lifesaving efforts, according to a Waupaca County Sheriff’s Office news release.
The driver of the semi-truck was transported to Theda Care Waupaca but was later pronounced dead from a medical condition and not from the crash, the release said.
The release also said:
Initial crash findings indicated the semi-truck, and trailer was traveling eastbound on US Highway 10, west of State Highway 22.
The semi entered the median, struck the guardrail, and came to rest further east in the median.
