GREEN BAY, WI (WSAU) – The Green Bay Packers are going to be without one of their top draft picks for the foreseeable future after he suffered a new injury against the Indianapolis Colts.
According to ESPN’s Rob Demovsky, rookie running back MarShawn Lloyd will be out for the next few weeks after he sprained his ankle during the Packers’ 16-10 win. Lloyd told The Athletics’ Matt Schneidman on Monday that he has been able to walk fine and that he considered the injury to be more day-to-day. This is not Lloyd’s first time spraining his ankle this year after he suffered the injury initially against the Cleveland Browns back on August 10th. Former Miami Dolphins running back Chris Brooks has been called up from the practice squad to replace Lloyd for the time being.
Brooks was waived by the Dolphins with an injury settlement during cutdowns and signed with Green Bay before the first week of play. During the 2023 season, he saw 19 carries for 106 yards for Miami as an undrafted rookie.
