MADISON, WI (WSAU) – The Wisconsin Badgers are not closing the door on starting quarterback Tyler Van Dyke returning to the program next season.
According to The Athletics’ Jesse Temple, head coach Luke Fickell didn’t rule out Van Dyke, who underwent successful surgery on his ACL on Monday, starting for the Badgers in 2025, saying he’ll “be in our plans” for next season. Temple stated in the report that the Badgers haven’t spoken to Van Dyke yet about his 2025 plans, but he would have another year of eligibility remaining after playing in less than four games this season.
Van Dyke through for 422 yards and a touchdown during his three starts for the Badgers before tearing his ACL. Second-year quarterback Brayden Locke is expected to get the start for Wisconsin against USC on Saturday and the rest of the season if the team decides to allow true freshman Mabrey Mettauer to sit and learn this season.
