PITTSBURGH, PA (WSAU) – The Milwaukee Brewers recorded their 91st win of the season on Thursday afternoon when they defeated the Pittsburgh Pirates 5-2 at PNC Park.
Milwaukee got an all-around effort at the plate with four different players recording an RBI, including second baseman Brice Turang, who recorded two, while outfielder Blake Perkins, third baseman Joey Ortiz, and catcher Eric Haase also contributed. Star outfielder Jackson Chourio did have a hit on his only plate appearance of the day while the Brewers left a total of ten baserunners on base.
Starting pitcher Aaron Civale got the win after allowing just three hits and striking out five in his six innings pitched. Closer Devin Williams got the save, bringing his total up to fourteen for the year.
The Brewers will return to action on Friday night when they welcome the playoff-hopeful New York Mets to American Family Field for the final series of the regular season. Frankie Montes will get the start for Milwaukee, while the Mets will start Sean Manaea and the first pitch can be heard on WSAU starting at 7:10.
