WAUSAU, WI (WSAU) — A Wausau couple facing child neglect charges after numerous documented incidents in their home has pled not guilty.
Cassandra and Anthony Huck both entered the plea on Monday. They both face two felony counts of child neglect against a child under the age of 6 and a third count of misdemeanor child neglect.
Investigators note several documented incidents stemming from the Huck’s Wausau home including one report of a child found walking naked near the Thomas Street Dairy Queen. Another report involved a girl walking outside in only a t-shirt and leggings in December, with temperatures hovering near freezing.
Additional incidents date back several years. Most cases were routed to Social Services, who enlisted family members to help the couple care for the children and clean up their living conditions.
Cassandra and Anthony are free on signature bonds and will return to court on October 28th. Conditions of the bond include no violent contact with two victims and no contact with a third victim unless supervised by a grandparent. They are also not allowed to discuss the case with each other.
No trial dates have been set. If found guilty they face up to seven years in prison.
